December 22, 2013. Rolled a 6 so today I jabber on about other artists! For today I'm doin' Thomas Knights.

Thomas Knights began his career as a music producer and performer and quickly realized he also had a talent behind the camera. Inspired by underground visionaries like James Bidgood and Pierre & Gilles, and the greats, like Helmut Newton, Richard Avedon, Guy Bourdin and David LaChapelle,  he has a dark, cinematic yet ‘pop’ approach to photography, film and music.

His many music videos for the likes of Marina And The Diamonds, Willy Moon, Karin Park and Maya Jane Coles have amassed millions of views online, and his photography has been featured in Marie Claire, InStyle, Dazed And Confused  and Vogue Italia.

Besides cutting and pasting from Thomas Knights 'about' page you can also see his photos and videos. His photography is definitely in the realm of fashion photography and is generally well composed with some flare from the music world. His videos are music videos for different music groups like Marina and The Diamonds and the bands listed above. 
He also has a youtube channel were you can see some of his videos and share them easier.

His current project right now that is sweepin' the net is RED HOT.

Red Hot is apparently Thomas Knights' first solo exhibition. It is set to premiere in London at the end of the year and features a cast of high profile, good looking red headed men. Mmmm... anyway it is also in line with the Anti Bullying Alliance. Apparently red headed females are objectified and sexualized and red headed males are reviled and shunned, so Thomas Knights goal is to make some red headed men objects of sexual desire. Anyway he seems like a pretty cool cat. Besides how can you not love the red heads.

December 21, 2013. Rolled an 8 so I spent the day working on my product sites. Still working with these different sites and everything is not up to date yet, still I've added some things.

This is a drawing I did a while back and decided to colour it in and try to sell it as a product design.

A design for the T-Shirt Avalanche site! They showcase all the T-shirts that they've collected so why not have their own? Plan on doing another one for them later on but this one is to congratulate them on their 325 post. I will have it available in the other shops later on as well.

Only the one shirt and priced a few dollars more than Zazzle. However I've gotten shirts from them before and they are good quality prints in my experience.

Only the one shirt but priced reasonably. I've never gotten anything from them though.

A lot more products (shirts, bags, necklace flasks) to choose from although a little more expensive sometimes.

December 20, 2013. Rolled a 7 so today is all about physical- I can touch this with my hands- work. The first thing I did was I started painting a triptych where I am translating three prints I have into paintings.

Working on a 12 piece series that employs the heros journey through visually reduced characters.

Started an abstract painting a while back and at one point my boyfriend asked me why I was drawing a giant squid attacking a house. So I did.

Started this while watching Mirror Mask. I have no further explanation.

. I also finished my submission in The World Traveling Art Book! This is a project started by Sara Pulver. Each artist receives the book and gets two pages of the book to do their work. After they're done they put pictures of their work on the facebook page for the book and then mail it to the next artist who wants to participate.

December 19, 2013. Rolled a 9 so today is website day! Oh sweet baby rays screaming into the void takes energy. Anyway today I've updated -

Things look nicer in frames isn't that weird? Well some things do anyway. I added a bunch of drawings, paintings, and prints that are all framed to my shop.

Some things are just better left matted. Anyway if you want anything framed or matted that isn't in the shop you should email me at cmann@nuactna-art.com.

Although the shop is up and running it is still in beta testing and the like so if you run into any problems-

I don't know what you're talking about. I can do ones based on characters from books, television, or movies.

I make custom magnets. They are generally about $10 and are about 2.5" by 5". Nothing says 'participation in consumerism' like a hand made magnet of your own mug on your fridge.

Isn't my mug pretty. I can also do ones based on original ideas and off of you yourself.

I know this isn't fair since my site has only really been up for a small window of time and is generally a narcissistic trap but - First person to mail me, either via my email or via this nifty little contact form to the left, will get a free magnet! December 18, 2013. Rolled a 2 so it's a day of comic(s). 

Woody and I had the kids last week and between the two of them they nearly killed me by being constantly adorable. They also have a habit of asking existentially troubling questions. Jokes on them though because I’m going to keep everything they draw and paint now and I’m going to have it decorate my house when they’re older, especially if they have friends over.

Still it always is children that shatter my faith in what I do with my time and then pick it back up and shove it back together. Everything is so easy for kids. Except homework, homework isn’t easy.

 December 17, 2013. Rolled a five it's sketch day! Posting sketches and random stuff I have around. Most of my sketches can be found ma' tumblr.

We had the kids on Friday. Went to Glowgolf and then came back and did some art stuff. ART STUFF! We each did a painting on canvas and Sophia and I did lots of drawings.

Nuactna-Art

Hello.

I am an Artist located in Rochester, NY. I know I'm an artist because I have a piece of paper from a college that tells me I am. I work in all mediums and primarily make two dimensional work.

So I have pictures and stuff if you're bored. I have Art Work that you can look through and stuff you can buy if you feel like Shoppin'. I also have updates on my Current Projects and my Portfolio if you want to employ me for any reason at all. If you're another artist or creative type I have the Collaboration Station or my Collab-Stab. The idea is to create a community of artists that like to work collaboratively over the internet. It's very low-key and is mostly for fun and brainstorming.

The site is currently under maintenance so please be patient as changes continue. Everything should be fully functional by the beginning of the 2014 year. Thanks.
